BID

About This Course

This module aims to provide Immigration Officers with a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing the following different types of legal status that an applicant may seek in Barbados: Citizenship, Immigrant Status and Permanent Residence. The module explains what key elements applications should contain, relevant legal provisions and Departmental practices. After studying this module you will be equipped with key knowledge on each form of the aforementioned forms of legal status in Barbados, equipping you with the right analytical approach and legal knowledge to assess the rights and obligations attached to each form of legal status. At the end of the module you will take an online assessment that requires you to answer multiple-choice questions.

Non-Immigration Officers will also be expected to study this module so that they are familiar with what the Immigration Officer does when they consider an application for legal status, but the multi-choice quiz that you will take at the end of the module will be different from that taken by the Immigration Officer.
